The ISC is participating in the NORFACE–Belmont Forum Transformations to Sustainability (T2S) programme launched in 2017. The new programme is the product of a partnership between the Belmont Forum and NORFACE in a joint effort to advance research on transformations to sustainability. The new programme is inspired by the ISC’s T2S programme, but operates differently.
The ISC funds social scientists based in low- and lower-middle-income countries to participate in projects selected in the new programme.
The NORFACE–Belmont Forum T2S programme continues the effort to re-structure the field of sustainability research by placing the social sciences and humanities at the heart of interdisciplinary research on this topic.
The programme has two major objectives:
The programme is structured around three thematic areas:
Conceptual aspects of processes of transformation and methodological innovation are cross-cutting issues relevant to all of these themes.
The NORFACE–Belmont Forum programme was launched in January 2017 with a call for outline proposals by 5 April 2017. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit a Full Proposal, with a deadline of 26 September 2017.
The total funding available for the NORFACE-Belmont Forum T2S programme has been set at a minimum of 13 million euros across the international funding partners over a period of three years. The total funding requested from the T2S partners must not exceed €1,500,000 across all participating partners for each project. Projects can last up to 36 months.
Access the call for proposals, background documentation and a timeline for the selection process on the NORFACE website.
