Prof. Fiona Marshall

University of Sussex
United Kingdom

Fiona is Professor of Environment & Development at the Science Policy Research Unit at the University of Sussex, and a member of the STEPS Centre. She is part of the T2S PATHWAYS Network. Fiona originally trained in the natural sciences, and she has worked extensively on food systems and environmental and social change. She has a strong active interest in the role of community engaged transdisciplinary research (across natural and social science disciplines) as part of transformative change processes in the global south. Recent collaborative research projects have been concerned with understanding the drivers and implications of mainstream urban development trajectories on service provision, ecosystem services and communities of the poor in urbanising contexts.
